Summer/Fall Born Bid-Off

At Jackpot Cattle Company, our primary focus is high quality Simmental bulls and heifers. Good cattle are good cattle though, so when we have opportunity to offer a special select of high quality show animals, we're happy to share!
We're currently offering 14 impressive calves via phone bid-off. Bids open at $1500 and increase by $250. Initial bids are accepted until January 7. At that time, a phone bid-off will be conducted in conjunction with our friends Bob and Brent Blake at Blake Show Cattle near Wessington, South Dakota. Our Philosophy

Visiting with us in person or on the phone remains the best way to understand our philosophy, but we're also happy to put it in writing for easy understanding and reference!
First, we know most of our customers--all of whom we consider friends and neighbors--don't raise cattle for show. Many of you won't even look at bulls that have seen a showring. That's ok; we get it. But, we do have reasons for our madness. We're proud to raise practical, good-looking cattle that not only represent us well in the showring but also perform in your real world situations. Our cattle are our only business. They have to perform every year in any market because there are no other enterprises to carry their weight. We view our cattle as an extension of us as people--straightforward, honest, and willing to work for our place at the table. Second, we occasionally retain a small portion of semen interest in our bulls because we believe in their versatile, usable quality. There seems to be a belief that only big name, high priced bulls are worth the effort. We believe that's a myth. Here at Jackpot, good cattle are good cattle no matter the price tag. We don't need inflated, hyped up prices to raise or promote good, high quality cattle, and we don't think you need that either. We aren't here to blow smoke. Don't be scared by the words "retaining interest". We aren't looking to add more work to your plate, and we don't want to steal your thunder. But, we would like to keep outstanding quality in our own herd, and if you're ready to market a bull beyond that, we're ready to help you all the way! |
